LONDON BRIDGE IS DOWN
Onlookers in Edinburgh, Scotland, paid respects as QUEEN ELIZABETH’s casket was driven through town on Monday. It was laid at St. Giles’ Cathedral to allow locals to mourn overnight, before being flown to London Tuesday morning.
KING CHARLES III spoke in front of Scotland’s Parliament Monday as well, where he shared a familiar message of continuing his mother’s legacy of duty to his country. "She set an example of selfless duty which, with God's help and your counsels, I am resolved faithfully to follow,” he said.

The MMA fighter passed away Sunday after a battle with stage 4 liver cancer.
He was 34.

JACK GING has died.
The actor, known for his roles in “Mannix” and “The A-Team,” passed away September 9 at his home in La Quinta, California. No cause of death was revealed.
He was 90.

ANNA KENDRICK got stuck in an elevator while at the Toronto Film Festival over the weekend.
On hand to promote her new movie “Alice, Darling,” the actress reportedly remained calm and cracked jokes with her team while waiting to be rescued.
“I got in the wrong elevator at the wrong time,” she told PEOPLE on Sunday.
Kendrick later posted videos to Instagram showing herself hanging out in the elevator.

BRITNEY SPEARS says she may never perform on stage again after the trauma she suffered during her 13-year-long conservatorship.
In a since deleted Instagram post, Spears wrote that growing up she had no control over her music videos and photoshoots, calling the professional pictures from past tours “offensive.”
“No I probably won’t perform again just because I’m stubborn and I will make my point,” she wrote.
The last time Spears performed on stage was in Vegas in 2017.

GISELE BUNDCHEN was not physically present to cheer on her football-throwing husband TOM BRADY, so she did the next best thing and posted her support on social media.
“Let’s go @TomBrady! Let’s Go Bucs!” she tweeted just minutes before Sunday night’s game kicked off.
The short and sweet message is a huge deal for those who have been following the drama with Brady and Bundchen, as the two have been at odds since he decided to un-retire from football earlier this year.

One of the jurors seated in R. KELLY’s Chicago trial suffered a panic attack during proceedings on Monday.
The incident went down after the prosecution gave their closing argument and the judge swiftly had the juror removed from the courtroom.
A sub was called in and then the defense gave their closing arguments.
Kelly was previously sentenced to 30 years in federal prison following a June conviction in his New York sexual abuse trial. He will learn his fate in this trial as soon as the jury returns a verdict.

MARTHA STEWART unexpectedly strutted down the runway at DENNIS BASSO’s show at the Pierre Hotel on Monday.
Sitting in the front row, Stewart handed Basso a bouquet of flowers as he took his finale lap. He responded by grabbing her hand and pulling her onto the catwalk to walk arm-in-arm with him.
Stewart is a huge fan of Basso’s designs, and was wearing one to his show. He, meanwhile, is celebrating 40 years in the fashion biz.

Viewership for Netflix’s “The Crown” surged 800% over the weekend compared to the previous Friday-Sunday period in the UK.
In the US viewership more than quadrupled from the previous weekend, according to Deadline.
“The Crown,” follows the life and events of QUEEN ELIZABETH’s time on the throne.
Her death is likely behind the spike in viewers.

The first look at the live-action version of “The Little Mermaid,” starring HALLE BERRY, grossed over 104 million views globally.
It tops all other live-action teasers, including “Cruella” (68 million views), “Beauty and the Beast” (94 million views), “Aladdin” (74 million views) and “Maleficent 2” (62 million views), per Variety.
The trailer is currently the No. 1 trending video on YouTube’s “Movies” section.

KIM KARDASHIAN’s ex, RAY J, has threatened to sue KRIS JENNER after she appeared on JAMES CORDEN’s “The Late Late Show” and was asked about whether or not she was part of the release of the former couple’s sex tape.
After being hooked up to a polygraph test, Kris was asked if she had a hand in the release of the tape and she responded “No, no.” The test showed that she was telling the truth.
Following the clip, Ray J called out the momager on Instagram, where he threatened to sue her, Kim and the late night host for defamation. He also claimed that not only did Kris know about the release, but also watched three sex tapes before hand-picking the one that would be made public.
FOR THOSE UNFAMILIAR: Ray and Kim dated from 2002 to 2006 and reportedly filmed the tape during her birthday celebration in Cabo in 2004. It was released in 2007 under the name “Kim Kardashian, Superstar.” Kim and Kris have claimed since the release to have had no knowledge of or part in the release, while Ray has remained adamant that it is BS.

PRINCE HARRY released a statement on QUEEN ELIZABETH’s passing Monday.
Taking to the Archewell website he shares with MEGHAN MARKLE, Harry wrote, “We are all reminded of the guiding compass [Elizabeth] was to so many in her commitment to service and duty. She was globally admired and respected.”
“Life of course, consists of final partings as well as first meetings,” he continued, quoting his late grandmother who uttered the same words after PRINCE PHILIP died.
Harry ended his sentiment, saying “We too, smile knowing that you and grandpa are reunited now, and both together in peace.”

A 22-year-old was arrested during QUEEN ELIZABETH’s funeral procession on Monday after launching some insults at PRINCE ANDREW.
“Andrew, you’re a sick old man!” the heckler shouted at the royal, who was walking behind his mother’s casket alongside his three siblings.
The bystander was eventually arrested for breach of the peace.
WORTH ASKING: While it may not have been the time or place to shout the insult, is the heckler wrong?

Cowboys QB DAK PRESCOTT could be out for up to two months following surgery on a thumb he injured during Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
ESPN reports that Prescott will have a “pin and plate inserted to stabilize the joint.”
SPEAKING OF INJURIES: Pittsburgh Steelers star -- and Wisconsin native -- TJ WATT could miss some serious playing time for a pec injury he suffered against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday afternoon. Insiders told ESPN it is believed to be a “torn pec,” though they are waiting on MRI results to confirm.

1501 – Michelangelo starts chipping away on the massive block of marble that would become the statue of David.
Church higher-ups in Florence owned a big block of rock, and were consulting sculptors and artists to find the right artisan to carve it into a statue of the biblical hero David.
Other masters had taken a crack at it, including Donatello almost a hundred years earlier. Some shape had been given to the legs, and some form had been given to the body, but not much else.
Michelangelo took another 3 years to finish.

1788 – With the Constitution for their new country hammered out and approved, the Continental Congress decides to implement their plans.
They pick the first Wednesday of the following January to be the nation's first Election Day.
Voters would be selecting electors who would vote for the president the following February. The new Congress would commence the following March.

1833 – The first-ever shipment of ice reaches India, creating a lucrative market for American entrepreneur Frederic Tudor.
The ice had been cut from lakes near Massachusetts the previous winter, then stored in an insulated refrigerator. The large chunks were cut in 2 to 3 cubic foot blocks for shipment.
A special insulated hold was built inside the ship Clipper Tuscany for the voyage, which started with 180 tons of ice.
When the ship arrived in Calcutta, only about 100 tons were left. Indians did not take to the first shipments right away. But soon word spread about ice cooling drinks and sales took off. Tudor dominated the ice export market for more than 20 years.

1899 – The first American vehicular manslaughter is committed.
Henry Bliss was walking across West 74th Street and Central Park West in New York City when a taxicab ran him over, crushing his head and chest.
The cab driver was charged with manslaughter, but acquitted because it was unintentional.
Bliss died the next morning.

1936 – 17-year-old pitcher Bob Feller strikes out 17 batters in a game, setting an American League record.
Feller was also the first pitcher to win at least 20 games in one season before turning 21 and led the American League in strikeouts over seven seasons.
Feller notably left professional baseball to fight in World War II.
He pitched for the Cleveland Indians throughout his entire career.

Though the carmaker paid the winners' state sales tax, people still had to pay about $6,000 in state and federal income taxes for the cars.

2019 - Actress Felicity Huffman is sentenced to 14 days in prison after pleading guilty for her role in the college admissions scandal.
She was also ordered to pay a $30,000 fine and complete 250 hours of community service.
Huffman was given until October 25 to report to prison to begin her sentence.
