HIT LIST
America’s total revolving credit balance spiked 20% in April, to an unprecedented total of $1.103 trillion.
In 2020, while people cashed government checks and stopped driving to work, Americans paid off $83 billion in credit card balances, but now appear to be using their credit to keep their heads above water amid rising inflation or, worse, run up their accounts rather than go back to work.
The labor force participation rate, which measures how many people are eligible to work and are looking for work, remains below pre-pandemic levels. Total labor force participation has shrunk by two million people since February 2020.
IT GETS WORSE: Total household debt is more than $15.84 trillion, including all mortgage debt, student loan debt, and auto loan debt.
By contrast, the gross domestic product in 2019, pre-pandemic, was just over $21 trillion.
IN OTHER WORDS: If we liquidated the entire economy, the nation would barely have anything left after paying off everyone’s debt.
BY THE WAY: This is totally separate from the more than $30 trillion debt the government owes.

Since then, GEICO’s appeals have been unsuccessful.

The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy and New England Aquarium are asking for the public’s help this summer.
Researchers are encouraging the public to download a new app, called Sharktivity, which allows them to report shark sightings off Cape Cod in Massachusetts. The app also serves as an educational tool for beachgoers and will send push notifications about any big fish spotted along the coast.
The hope is that the app can keep not only those wanting to swim in the coastal waters safe, but also the giant sea creatures who inhabit them.

WEDDINGS
BRITNEY SPEARS, 40, and SAM ASGHARI, 28, tied the knot at their Thousand Oaks home on Thursday.
While the ceremony was attended by 60 of those closest to the couple, several significant people were missing. Britney’s two sons, SEAN PRESTON, 16, and JAYDEN JAMES, 15, who she shares with ex-husband KEVIN FEDERLINE were not there; though the trio sent their well wishes.
Also, absent -- due to not being invited -- were the singer’s parents and younger sister.
Those who did attend included: PARIS HILTON, SELENA GOMEZ, MADONNA, GWYNETH PALTROW and KATE HUDSON.
BRING ON THE DRAMA: Brit’s ex-husband, JASON ALEXANDER, attempted to crash the nuptials, claiming he had been invited. After yelling “I’m her first husband, I’m here to crash the wedding,” he was able to make it into her home. He was then restrained by event security and handed over to the LAPD, according to TMZ.

THE SWAMP
Senator JOSH HAWLEY has released emails from Department of Homeland Security bureaucrats discussing the creation of the Disinformation Governance Board, a project that was largely scrapped by the administration after its head, NINA JANKOWICZ, was revealed to be a partisan operative.
The emails show that this internal Ministry of Truth sought “to discuss operationalizing public-private partnerships between DHS and Twitter” – in other words, using Twitter to spy on Americans. In particular, according to the internal emails, they wanted to keep tabs and silence people with the wrong opinions about the security of the 2020 general election or the origins of covid.

The Washington Examiner has been going to town on its copy of HUNTER BIDEN’s laptop.
On Thursday, they discovered a payroll record that included compensation for LUNDEN ROBERTS – the woman who sued Hunter for a paternity test and won, revealing he was indeed the father of her child.
Being on payroll for Hunter’s company also meant paying Roberts’ healthcare.
None of this is new; Roberts disclosed the compensation when she sued Hunter for child support in 2019. But the text messages between Hunter and his assistant reveal something far more troubling.
When Hunter saw this payroll record from October 2018, he texted his assistant to get Lunden off the dole immediately. He said in part, “We need to completely abandon this old process and come [up] with a new one. New accounts new record keeping new everything.”
WORTH ASKING: What old process? Of paying people off through his companies? Did he also funnel money to the prostitutes he took videos and photos of himself doing drugs with? Did he also funnel money to his drug dealers through his companies? Did he use money from international businesses in China or Ukraine to pay for projects around his father’s home? Why doesn’t Jim Acosta care to find out?

1940 – The Norwegians buckle to Nazi invasion.
Two months earlier, the strategic attack began. From within, fascist resistance captured key points, quickly bringing the government down, along with its already limp military.
The takeover was planned in part with former Norwegian Minister of Defense Vidkun Quisling, who threw in with the Nazis in 1934. After the invasion, Quisling was made the leader of the only legal party in Norway.
After the fall of the Nazis, Quisling was arrested and shot for treason. His name is synonymous with "traitor" in Scandinavian and surrounding countries -- much like "Judas" in the Bible or "Benedict Arnold" in the US.

Today's mid-range Apple laptop is literally one million times more powerful for less than half the price.
