North Korean hacker outfit Lazarus Group is reportedly the culprit behind a hack that stole $1.46 BILLION in Ethereum cryptocurrency from global exchange BYBIT. The theft represents perhaps the biggest heist in history, in terms of value.

Crypto sleuths say the movement of coin out of Bybit and into other crypto wallets follow similar patterns the group has employed before.

Bybit says it has the resources to cover the losses, but is taking out bridge loans to keep their customers whole. [via Coindesk]

A California state assemblyman wants to honor the legacy of Bigfoot, by recognizing the mysterious creature as the state's official cryptid.

For all the normal people asking, a cryptid is some living thing whose existence has only been rumored, not proven (think: chupacabra, yeti, kraken, abominable snowman, etc.)

An official group, the Bigfoot Field Research Organization monitors rumors of bigfoot sightings in the state. Their last confirmed sighting was September last year. [via CBS Los Angeles]

ERIC and LYLE MENENDEZ won’t be getting a new trial.

New Los Angeles District Attorney NATHAN HOCHMAN declined his decision on Friday. Hochman considered evidence that the brothers had been abused by their father, but decided it didn’t merit another trial entirely.

In the meantime, the brothers continue to pursue multiple options, including resentencing, a pardon from California Governor GAVIN NEWSOM, and even eligibility for parole. [via New York Post]

MARIA SHRIVER says she didn’t even notice her son PATRICK SCHWARZENEGGER appeared fully nude in the latest episodes of “The White Lotus.”

She said she kept her eyes on Patrick’s face during the performance. “So that shows you – a mother’s eyes are always on the kids’ eyes,” Shriver said. [via People]

Last week, Patrick’s dad ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER joked to Vanity Fair about the performance, “What a show! I could claim to be surprised to find out he has a nude scene, but what can I say … The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.”

MSNBC primetime host JOY REID is out of a job.

The New York Times broke the story early Sunday morning. Reid’s last show being “The ReidOut” desk will air some night this week.

Three anchors will take over the 6:00 pm Central time slot: former Kamala Harris spokeswoman SYMONE SANDERS, former RNC chairman MICHAEL STEELE, and ALICIA MENENDEZ, a correspondent; they currently host a weekend show together.

The development marks the first major programming change implemented by network head Rebecca Kutler, who took the reins earlier this month. [via New York Times]
