Amid the legal hurdles facing TIKTOK, its major competitor INSTAGRAM wants to steal some of the Chinese spy app’s top influencers.

Instagram’s parent company, META, has reportedly offered top TikTok accounts monthly bonuses up to $50,000 to post their videos on Instagram before they go live anywhere else. [via Mashable]

MEANWHILE: TikTok enthusiasts who deleted the app in frustration when it went dark over the weekend are reportedly flustered it remains unavailable for download in app marketplaces. The law banning the app, which specifically restricts distributing its content, remains in effect as President DONALD TRUMP negotiates a new deal that includes American ownership. An analysis of password data by tech company anyIP shows the most commonly-used, and therefore least secure, online passwords.

The worst three are numeric strings: 1) 123456; 2) 123456789; 3) 12345.

Then the obvious, “password,” in the fourth spot and the alphabetic string “qwerty” in fifth – the first six letters on a typical keyboard.

Farther down the list, people get a little more creative. “Secret” comes in at #9, “iloveyou” at #18, “dragon” and “monkey” at #20 and #21, and a weird one at #29: “tinkle.”

OH, AND: “f—you” rolls in at #60 (but you’ll have to fill in the letters). [via Forbes, Nordpass]
