HIT LIST
ELON MUSK offered to go through with his original $44 billion bid for Twitter on Tuesday, thus ending his legal battle with the social media platform.
The Tesla CEO made the offer in a letter sent to Twitter, which was then disclosed in a filing with the SEC.
In response, Twitter said it intends to settle at $54.20 per share.
The deal came just two weeks before the two were set to face off in trial over Musk backing out of the deal.
WORTH NOTING: Twitter’s stock soared almost 22% late Tuesday after the news.

New York Yankees outfielder AARON JUDGE hit his 62nd home run on Tuesday night, breaking the record set by ROGER MARIS in 1961.

Three teenagers stole a Maserati, hit 123 mph and plowed through a store sign, killing one, in St. Petersburg, Florida over the weekend.
The teens -- none of whom had licenses -- were fleeing police when they hit the high ate of speed and crashed.
A 15-year-old passenger died at the scene, and the driver and other passenger were both hospitalized.
While documenting the crash, officers found a 25-caliber semi-automatic gun in the car, which is believed to be a “crime gun,” that has been sold and resold on the streets since its last official documentation in 1968, according to a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office.
Charges are pending, but the spokesperson said that the driver could face felony third-degree murder.

Mount Holyoke College, Smith College and Hampshire College in Massachusetts have extended their mask mandates indefinitely.
According to statements issued last month, the colleges made the decision “because of the relatively high confirmed COVID-19 case counts on campus.”
Their definition of high is 50 cases per week. On a campus of thousands.
Nearby Amherst College is putting the issue up for a vote with the idea of implementing a masking policy on a classroom-by-classroom basis.

LORETTA LYNN has died.
The country music icon passed away in her sleep early Tuesday at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, according to the Associated Press.
She was 90.

TIFFANY JOHNSON has died.
The Texas Longhorns basketball legend passed away Monday after a battle with breast cancer.
She was 37.

BREAKUPS
Actress TIA MOWRY has filed for divorce from her husband of 14 years, fellow actor CORY HARDICT.
According to legal docs obtained by TMZ, Mowry filed in Los Angeles yesterday, citing “irreconcilable difference” as the reason.
The couple are parents to son Cree, 11, and Cairo, 4.
After the news broke, Mowry addressed the split on Instagram, writing that she and Cory will “remain friends.”

CHRIS MARTIN is battling a serious lung infection and has been put under strict orders to rest for the next three weeks.
No further details on his diagnosis were shared.
The illness forces his band, Coldplay, to postpone their upcoming eight concerts until 2023.

THE SWAMP
Former President DONALD TRUMP asked the Supreme Court Tuesday to settle his dispute with the Justice Department over classified documents seized in the raid on Mar-a-Lago.
The 300-page filing, submitted by his attorneys, asked the court to stay an earlier ruling by the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. That ruling allowed the Justice Department to continue using the seized documents in the investigation of whether Trump violated federal law in regards to the chain of custody of government records.
The filing will go to Justice CLARENCE THOMAS, who handles appeals originating from the 11th Circuit. He can either act on his own or share the appeal with the rest of the court.

RUMOR IS: Buccaneers QB TOM BRADY and supermodel GISELE BUNDCHEN have each retained divorce lawyers.
The rumor comes amid previous reports from Page Six that the two have been living separately for the past couple of months after Brady’s decision to un-retire from football.
Insiders told the outlet Tuesday that if the two follow through with the divroce they will remain “dedicated to their two children, Benjamin, 12, and Vivian, 9.” Brady is also dad to son Jack,15, whom he shares with his ex, BRIDGET MOYNAHAN.

AN OFFER HE CAN’T REFUSE: Actor AL PACINO is working on closing a deal with publishing giant Penguin Random House to pen a memoir.
Details of the book are being kept under wraps.
In 2006, Pacino published “Al Pacino: In Conversation with Lawrence Grobel,” which was a series of talks over more than 25 years between the actor and the journalist/celebrity biographer.

A letter JOHN LENNON, written just hours before he was murdered, is hitting the auction block.
The typed letter to his accountant BARRY NICHOLS lists three people to whom Lennon gave his proxy to vote at an annual meeting for the Beatles corporations, which was scheduled for nine days later in London.
It was personally signed by Lennon and it is believed to be the final last known legal doc with his signature.
The note is expected to fetch between $30,000 and $50,000; though his last autograph sold for $100,000.

ANGELINA JOLIE claims that the infamous 2016 plane incident involving her ex-husband BRAD PITT and their children was much worse than initially reported.
In a new filing, Jolie claims that Pitt lunged at one of the children when they tried to defend their sibling, screamed at them, swore at them and at one point poured beer and red wine on them.
“They were all frightened,” she claimed.
A source close to Pitt responded to the accusations, telling PEOPLE magazine the new claims are “incredibly sad” and “untrue.”
As many may remember, the incident on the plane is what kickstarted the couple’s bitter divorce.

The comedian was spotted on the set of his upcoming comedy series “Bupkis” in NYC with a bandaid covering up the area the tattoo once appeared.
He got the ink while dating KIM KARDASHIAN.
Davidson also got her kids’ initials on his neck and a branding on his chest in her honor.

Fans of GEORGE R.R. MARTIN’s work are boycotting his upcoming book, “The Rise of the Dragon: An Illustrated History of the Targaryen Dynasty Volume One,” over claims of racist comments made by its coauthors.
Married couple LINDA ANTONSSON and ELIO M. GARCIA JR have been accused of a “history racism” and many are asking Martin to cut all ties with them.
Specifically, fans have taken issue with Antonsson’s decades old blog posts in which she decries casting people of color in “Game of Thrones” to play characters who are white in Martin’s book.”
Antonsson and Garcia spoke to Variety about the claims, telling the outlet they “are not racist” and feel “very much under attack for their sticking to [the] views [from] Martin’s original work.”

One of the many things COOLIO had in the works before unexpectedly passing away was his first ever Vegas residency.
Insiders told the Daily Mail that the rapper was in talks with Fan Rebellion, a production company that has an ongoing Vegas residency show called Boombox! at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.
According to a spokesperson for the company, the plan was to have Coolio perform from the end of October through the second week of November, for a total of 10 concerts.
The new plan includes a tribute to the late rapper.

“Hocus Pocus 2” was a major hit for Disney+.
The streamer revealed Tuesday that the sequel is its No. 1 movie debut domestically to date. The ranking is based on hours streamed in the first three days of its release.
The movie dropped on Friday, 30 years after the original aired.

After years of speculation, Velma (the character from “Scooby-Doo”) has come out of the closet.
In the new animated flick “Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo!” Velma clearly has a thing for a costume designer Coco Diablo.
While Velma was previously believed to be in a relationship with her Mystery Inc. pal Shaggy, showrunners told TMZ he was actually “just a beard for her.”
“Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo!” is available to stream on HBO Max.

KANYE WEST responded to all the backlash over him wearing a shirt that read “White Lives Matter” during his recent fashion show in Paris.
Taking to Instagram, Ye wrote “EVERYONE KNOWS THAT BLACK LIVES MATTER WAS A SCAM NOW ITS [sic] OVER YOU’RE WELCOME.”
He also called out Vogue editor GABRIELLA KAREFA-JOHNSON, who called his shirt “dangerous” and “irresponsible.”
“This is not a fashion person. You speak on Ye Ima speak on you. Ask Trevor Noah,” Ye captioned a photo of Karefa-Johnson on Instagram.
WORTH NOTING: Conservative commentator CANDACE OWENS took photos with Ye at the fashion show, also wearing a shirt with “White Lives Matter” on it.
IN RESPONSE: BLM told TMZ Tuesday that Ye’s messaging “harms thousands of families fighting for justice for their loved ones killed by state-sanctioned violence.” They also came for Owens, saying she is speaking “toxic confusion.”

WE’LL NEVER BE ROYALS
Some Hope Ranch residents are less than thrilled about PRINCE HARRY and MEGHAN MARKLE wanting to move to the area.
Sources connected to the Homeowners Association at Hope Ranch told TMZ Tuesday that several community members are “fretting” over the couple relocating because of all the “baggage” that follows them.
One of the biggest concerns is the increase in traffic to the small community as paparazzi will likely flood the area to get photos of the couple.

PRINCE JOACHIM of Denmark says he has not spoken to his mom, QUEEN MARGRETHE, since she stripped his children of their titles.
He also told Danish outlet B.T. he has not spoken to his brother, CROWN PRINCE FREDERIK, or his sister-in-law, CROWN PRINCESS MARY, whose four kids still have their titles.
As previously reported, Queen Margrethe announced last week that starting on January 1, 2023, Joachim’s four kids will lose their royal titles. It has been speculated the decision was made to streamline the future of the monarchy.

1550 – Spanish Conquistador Pedro de Valdivia founds Concepción, Chile.
It was close to the border of Spanish-controlled territory and the lands of the Mapuche.
The town functioned as a military settlement for brass in the Spanish army occupying South America. Four years later, natives overran the village and destroyed it. But the Spaniards were unfazed, and built it again in 1555.

1582 – This date is the first of ten that are … well, lost in Italy, Poland, Portugal, and Spain.
Those countries switched from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar effective the day after October 4th. But in order to get on the same page as other countries already using the Gregorian calendar, the date following October 4th 1582 would be October 15th.

1813 – Shawnee Chief Tecumseh is defeated and killed during the War of 1812.
The Indian leader had joined forces with the British. They were in battle against future president William Harrison’s army at the Battle of the Thames near present-day Ontario.
Tecumseh had been amassing an army of native Americans to fight the white invaders, but it wasn’t enough.
His death marked the end to much of the resistance from native Americans against the European settlers east of the Mississippi River. Many remaining tribes moved west.

1869 – FA Spofford and Matthew G. Raffington receive a patent for a “water velocipede.”
It was a rudimentary paddle boat.
The invention was one of many similar vessels patented around that time as upper class folks looked for new activities on the water.
