HIT LIST
THERE ARE 15 DAYS TO GO until Election Day. We’ll lead off Hit List every day until then with the latest from the campaign trail as early voting gets into full swing across the country this week.
– DONALD TRUMP worked a brief shift serving up french fries and working the drive-thru window at a Pennsylvania McDonald’s on Sunday. He even wished his opponent a happy birthday.
– KAMALA HARRIS launched a “Souls to the Polls” campaign at an Atlanta-area church on Sunday. “Our country is at a crossroads, and where we go from here is up to us as Americans and as people of faith,” Harris said.
– ELON MUSK is spending big through his America PAC to mobilize voters in Pennsylvania, offering a daily $1 MILLION lottery drawing for registered voters who sign a petition supporting the First and Second Amendments. Some are saying the cash prize violates election law. The state’s governor said on Sunday law enforcement should investigate.
– Amid worries about a days-long slog to get election results, Michigan’s Secretary of State said on “Face the Nation” yesterday she hopes to have a final tally for the state by the night after the election. Similarly, Georgia’s Secretary of State told the same program he expects to have an official tally submitted by the Friday after Election Day, giving his state time to receive and count overseas ballots.
– A Rasmussen poll shows fewer than half of Americans plan to vote on Election Day this year, at 45%. 25% say they’ll cast their ballot before the end of the month and 20% say they’ve already voted.

LAST WEEK: SPACEX sued the California Coastal Commission, alleging the agency was withholding launch permissions to politically persecute ELON MUSK.
NOW: Even California Governor GAVIN NEWSOM says the commission has overreached, telling Politico, “I’m not helping the legal case. You can’t bring up that explicit level of politics.”
Newsom added that he’s not supportive of Musk’s politics and beliefs, and that the commissioners are “good,” but that this was an overreach.
While the lawsuit will continue, it appears the Commission may not have expanded state resources to defend itself. [via The Wrap]
MEANWHILE: While on his Pennsylvania speaking tour, Musk touted his support for massive deregulation, recounting stories about kidnapping seals to test the effects of sonic booms and whether rockets splashing down in the ocean might injure whales.
SPEAKING OF SPACEX: The company published more video footage of its Starship’s reentry and splashdown last week. WATCH >

A young Hawaiian man is alive after spending 12 hours treading water in rough seas.
The survivor, 17-year-old Kahiau Kawai, was accidentally left behind by his high school kayak team last Wednesday when they returned to shore ahead of strong winds and choppy conditions. When they realized Kawai was missing, they called the police.
Fortunately, a volunteer lifeguard, Noland Keaulana, saw the news and took it upon himself to search for Kawai in a boat. When the Coast Guard spotted Kawai in the water, they dropped a flare and radioed to Keaulana, who was able to recover Kawai.
Kawai was treated for hypothermia, dehydration, and severe cramping; he spent the weekend recovering in the hospital. [via CBS News]

DELTA Airlines is investigating an incident in which a flight attendant ordered a passenger to remove a shirt he deemed offensive in order for her to stay on the flight.
Marine Corps vet Catherine Banks, who served for 22 years and worked for the Air Force for another 15, says she wore a t-shirt that read, “Do not give in to the war within. End veteran suicide.”
The attendant reportedly called the shirt “threatening” and pulled Banks off the plane and onto the jetbridge to change. Though she did, the flight was delayed, she lost her premium seat, and missed her connection.
A rep for the airline says, “Delta is seeking to make contact with the customer directly to hear more so we can begin to look into what occurred.” [via NBC Bay Area]

Former Bears QB JAY CUTLER was arrested last week for DUI and gun possession outside of Nashville, Tennessee after a collision with another vehicle.
Multiple sources claim Cutler initially fled the scene, only to return minutes later and offer the other driver $2,000 to not call police. The accident had already been called in however, and officers were on the scene moments later.
According to the police report, Cutler’s eyes appeared “bloodshot,” “glassy,” and “dilated” and he smelled like alcohol. He refused to take a field sobriety test, and was taken to a local hospital where a blood sample was obtained.
Two guns were found in Cutler’s truck, including a loaded pistol in the console, which is illegal to possess while under the influence.

ROSIE O’DONNELL’s daughter, CHELSEA BELLE O’DONNELL, was arrested last month for child neglect and drug possession after officers found her 11-month-old son living in a home filled with dirty diapers, rotting food, garbage, razor blades and drug paraphernalia.
She was charged with four felony counts of maintaining a drug trafficking place, child neglect, possession of meth, and possession of THC.
Chelsea, who was adopted by Rosie as a baby, has been estranged from her on and off for years. When she turned 18 in 2016, she moved out of Rosie’s home and went to live in Wisconsin near her birth mother, which is where she remains.
In addition to the 11-month-old, Chelsea also has a 5-year-old, 3-year-old and 2-year-old. It is unclear if any of them were in the home or are even in her care.
A court hearing has been set for next month.
