President of Russia VLADIMIR PUTIN met with an American diplomat Thursday in Moscow to discuss terms of a ceasefire for ongoing landgrab war in Ukraine.

Putin said he supports the general terms of the ceasefire but wants to negotiate directly with PRESIDENT TRUMP.

Under the terms that Ukraine agreed to earlier in the week, all military activities would cease and the warring nations would trade their respective POWs and other detainees. [via CNBC]

In November this year, climate activists from around the world will head to Belém, Brazil, for the United Nations COP30 Climate Change Conference.

In preparation for the event, Brazil’s government is building a four-lane highway through thousands of acres of protected rainforest to beef up infrastructure for the gathering.

So far, construction crews have plowed through eight miles of rainforest. One local who makes a living by selling açaí berries near the construction says his crop has been wiped out and he no longer has a way to support his family. He tells BBC, “Everything was destroyed.”

IT GETS WORSE: The locals muscled out of the area won’t have access to the highway, either; a wall will guard either side of the new road. [via BBC]

CHRISTOPHER LAMBERT is recovering after falling down some stairs at a hotel a few months ago.

His rep tells TMZ that the 67-year-old actor suffered a significant back injury during the fall and is now on the mend.

In the meantime, Lambert is promoting a new docuseries called “Eyes Everywhere.” [via TMZ]

JESSICA SIMPSON hit the stage for the first time in over a decade this week, performing at South by Southwest, a film and musical festival in Austin, Texas.

Before her set, Simpson shared a video on Instagram telling friends how “excited” and “blessed” she feels to be back performing.

Her performance contained some of her previous hits, mixed with new music from her forthcoming EP “Nashville Canyon Part 1,” which is due out this month. [via @jessicasimpson]

OASIS’ reunion tour will be filmed.

The band announced Thursday that producer STEVEN KNIGHT and director DYLAN SOUTHERN will be behind the camera to create a documentary/concert film.
